Job Summary:
The Accountant is responsible for maintaining the financial health of a growing fashion brand with both retail and wholesale arms. This role includes managing daily transactions, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, reconciling accounts, and supporting budgeting and payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Record and track daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, and expenses.
• Reconcile bank accounts, POS systems, and cash balances daily.
• Prepare monthly financial statements including profit & loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Monitor accounts receivable from wholesale clients and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Review and report on daily expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Process payroll and ensure accuracy in statutory deductions (PAYE, pensions, etc.).
• Collaborate with store and warehouse teams for inventory reconciliation.
• Support tax filing and compliance with Nigerian regulations.
• Organize and maintain accurate financial documentation and records.
• Liaise with auditors and external consultants as needed.
Requirements:
• OND/HND/BSc in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in accounting, preferably in retail or SME environments.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).
• Knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations and payroll systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Integrity, discretion, and strong organizational skills.
